Idiosyncrasies

I am a bird afraid of heights, I am afraid of everything
And for the first time in my life, I can't be alone
Through seasons you learn to weather
Small pewter statues as reminders
Of who we should have been
Cold and stoic we will stand
To face our trials and fail
Oh the pain of constantly wishing to be someone, anyone else
You were lost at sea, but a stones throw away and the shore told me not to remember
I've cut my sails
I am here, you are here, there is a haunting here
What would it take
To forget about this
Don't ask if you can't accept, narrow or broad, just don't ask
I could never accuse you of this fantastic pursuit
Through fields and woods
We must tread softly
My breath, my flesh, my unicorn

Always slipping through my fingers
I'll accept this chase
As the closest this tired body
Will ever get to what it is that people get to
Take your pictures, take your pictures, plant your seeds
But you will never explain a color in words
I let happen what would and lost my catch that moment
Had to stay out of sight, I've cut my ties

Kiss

Nobody knows the me that you do
Gonna take some getting used to
And I think I'm getting through to you
But all that shit I put you through ain't right
And I know
That I'm barely ever home
But I think of you on the road
You know I think of you on blow
Its me, lil jeep
She know peep
Not a memory of me
I'm a creep
I'm a freak
That's why nobody's friends with me
I used to wait in my room
For a single sign from you
Say I hate you cause I knew that you would never love me too

One more chance, baby gimme a kiss
You got one more chance at a night like this
You can hold my hand in the back of the whip
I saw the plug at the club came back with a brick
One more chance, baby gimme a kiss
You got one more chance at a night like this
You can hold my hand in the back of the whip
I saw the plug at the club came back with a brick

And that's real shit, I keep it real bitch
I'm a goth boi kinda like my whole clique
You a bad one, we should have fun
Let's fuck in the all black benz truck
Six racks on, six packs gone
Ima bad boy we ain't gonna last long
I can make you, I can break you
Baby think of all the places I can take you
What's yo age boo?
Ima jit still
Ima die young, Ima get killed
What's yo age boo?
Ima jit still
Ima die young, Ima get killed

One more chance, baby gimme a kiss
You got one more chance at a night like this
You can hold my hand in the back of the whip
I saw the plug at the club came back with a brick
One more chance, baby gimme a kiss
You got one more chance at a night like this
You can hold my hand in the back of the whip
I saw the plug at the club came back with a brick

Never

Sing, me a sad song
Top of the morning too
By the catacombs
You and I, it's do or die
Skies are grey, so you flew a kite
We knew
And I'll take
My lifetime, better days
I won't awake
And I know

You, I, we die
It's so hard to take
This time, I'll fly
We won't ever break
It's all I know
You can't ever say
You, I, we die
It's so hard to take
This time, I'll fly
We won't ever break
It's all I know
You can't ever say

Vengeance never comes, move on
Vengeance never comes, move on
Vengeance never comes, move on
Vengeance never comes, move on
Vengeance never comes, move on
Vengeance never comes, move on

The Ballad Of Bill Thaxton

Bill Thaxton was an ex-ranger
One of the bravest by far
It's said that old Bill was the fastest man ever
To pin on a ranger's star
Stories about him were legends
Bill was the best of the bold
Bad men all feared him way back in his day
But he was now growing old

Into Bill's town rode an outlaw
He wore his gun low and tied down
He reined in his horse and announced to the crowd
'If you speak to me call me Sundown'
His clothes were all dark and fancy
And topped by a black leather vest
Somebody asked how he came by his name
And if he was one of the best.

The eyes of the tall stranger narrowed
He grinned like the devil possessed
'I never fight till the sun's going down
And my back is facing the West'

Said he wouldn't be with us tomorrow
He only rode in for one thing
He only stopped by to make Bill Thaxton die
So he could add to his fame.
'Go give Bill Thaxton a message
And tell him a killer's in town
Tell him we'll meet at the end of the street
Just as the sun's going down'

Somebody said it had been years
Since old Bill had toted a gun
Sundown replied that it wasn't his hide
Killing old Bill would be fun
The old ranger sent back his answer
'Tell him that I'm on my way
I've never ran and I'll meet this young man
At any time of the day'

Bill got there just about sunset
It still hung like fire in the sky
In just a few moments out there in the street
Old Bill or the outlaw would die

Slowly Bill slid from the saddle
And started to make his advance
The sun hit the old ranger square in the eyes
The shadows had started to dance
Bill started talking to Sundown
Judging his distance that way
Their stride was the same and at just thirty feet
Both of the men made their play

Bill's gun slipped leather like lightning
His forty-four spoke with a whine
The sun didn't bother Bill Thaxton at all
Because the old ranger was blind
Six shots delivered their message
The ranger had emptied his gun
Bill gave a sigh when there was no reply
He knew that once more he had won

The old ranger lowered his six gun
He just stood there starting ahead
Watching you'd think that old Bill didn't know
In front of him Sundown lay dead

Bill has been gone for a long time
But old timers still can recall
The day the old ranger stood up to the test
And proved he was best of them all

Sedition

Which lie is the one that will take me?
And which war?
Generations of wage slave data
Family stories they said don't matter

Till the last breath burns in the throats of Bhopal
Will I feel the blade when they bury them all?
Hiding from us all this time
Ghosts flickering in and out of my mind

Dead-end streets we walk by
No retreat, staring at the sun
Dead end streets
The blast shadows are waiting for an answer
All this time, I'll give them mine
I'll give them mine

If I could walk in my grandfather's footsteps
While they glow in the dark
On his way back from the yard
Where the train was parked
I'd say, 'Don't turn your back
Don't you trust those bastards'

I wish I could say this now, don't walk by
No retreat, staring at the sun
Dead end streets
The blast shadows are waiting for an answer
All this time, I'll give them mine

Into our history
Not even a letter
To fake a smile
To say I'm sorry

Our trust in this system's dead
Our trust in this system's dead
Our trust in this system's dead
What will it take to make you sorry?

Hiroshima started in Tennessee
Let it end with me, let it end with me
Hiroshima started in Tennessee
Let it end with me, let it end with me
Let it end with me
Let it end
